The Ateneo is set right in the city centre, just 100 meters from San Marco Square and 50 meters from La Fenice theatre. There is an enormous choice of restaurants and shops nearby.
The Ateneo is set in an ancient building that was once the dwelling of eminent merchant families. Since 1959 it is an elegant and welcoming hotel that still boasts the charm of a typical 17th century Venetian residence. By Plane:
- From the airport, you could take a private taxi-boat and be directly at the hotel in 25/30 minutes.
- Alternatively, you could take the Alilaguna shuttle boat to Piazza S.Marco via Murano Island and Lido di Venezia, which takes approximately one hour and 10 minutes.
- You could also travel via taxi or bus to Piazzale Roma in approximately 20 minutes. Then you could take a private taxi-boat or public boat lines number 1 or 82 to Calle Valaresso/ S.Marco.
By Train:
From St. Lucia Railway Station:
- You could take the private taxi-boat to the hotel in approximately 20 minutes.
- Alternatively, take public boat lines number 1 or 82 to CalleValaresso/S.Marco (approximately 30 minutes).
